Notes

'Beni-kan' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Beni-kan') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its flowers are red, and they make a good show when you cut them for a vase. Sakata & Co. introduced it in 1931.

Pairs well with June hosta, Wild geranium, and Hicksii yew.
