Notes
'Beni-tsukasa' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Beni-tsukasa') is a shrub for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. A Japanese breeder developed it. You can cut the blooms to bring indoors. Its woody stems stay in place through winter, so give it room in the border.
Pairs well with Praying Hands hosta, Korean spice viburnum, and Switchgrass.
