'Benmei' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Benmei') is a shrub for borders and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. You can cut the blooms for indoor vases. Give the shrub room in the border so it can grow into its shape. Place it where you can enjoy the flowers up close.

Pairs well with Rainforest Sunrise hosta, Blue fescue, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Stella de Oro daylily.
