Notes

'Bessie' peony (Paeonia 'Bessie') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, silvery pink double flowers are large and neat, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Fire and Ice hosta, Clustered bellflower, Black Hero tulip, and Bobo hydrangea.
