Notes
'Bigarreau de Schrecken' sweet cherry (Prunus avium 'Bigarreau de Schrecken') is a columnar tree for a food garden and a pollinator garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun. It is grown for fresh eating. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers in early to late spring. It is not self-fertile, so plant a second cherry nearby for fruit.
Pairs well with Spiked speedwell, Amazing Grace tulip, Incrediball Blush smooth hydrangea, and Ernest Markham clematis.
