Notes

Bigelow's sneezeweed (Helenium bigelovii) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. Yellow flowers open from early to late summer and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Linnaeus is thought to have named the genus for Helen of Troy.

Pairs well with Chocolate cosmos, Snapdragon, and Society garlic.
