Notes

'Bijou' clematis (Clematis 'Bijou') is a vine for containers, ground cover, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Stems reach only about 12 inches and form a low mat or mound with violet-purple flowers that have pink stripes. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It blooms freely and often blooms again in fall, and you do not need to prune it.

Pairs well with David garden phlox, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Limelight hydrangea.
