Notes

'Bird of Paradise' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Bird of Paradise') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The cactus-like flowers open in late spring and are white with dark pink striations. They turn green as they age and last about three weeks. Plants stand upright, so they need no support.

Pairs well with Arizona Sun blanket flower, Sedge, and Grape hyacinth.
