Notes

Black bamboo (Phyllostachys nigra) is a grass for containers and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It is evergreen and can reach about 15 to 25 feet tall. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Give it room to spread, since it can fill a wide space over time.

Pairs well with Fountain grass, Azalea, and Snake's head.
