Notes

Yellow groove bamboo (Phyllostachys aureosulcata f. spectabilis) is a grass for containers and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or chalky soil. It is evergreen, drought tolerant, and grows fast into a dense stand. Deer tend to pass it by. Give it room to fill out, or grow it in a container to keep it in bounds.

Pairs well with Korean spice viburnum, Daffodil, and Balloon flower.
