Notes

Fish-pole bamboo (Phyllostachys aurea) is a grass for containers and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast, stays evergreen, and tolerates drought. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Give it plenty of room, since it grows tall and spreads wide.

Pairs well with Mondo grass, Redwood, and Society garlic.
