Notes

'Black Beauty' peony (Paeonia 'Black Beauty') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The single, dark red blooms are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. E. J. Berneche bred it.

Pairs well with Golden Tiara hosta, Moonshine yarrow, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
