Notes

'Bloodstone' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Bloodstone') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears single violet-red flowers on tall plants. Tall plants give height at the back of a border, and the single blooms are easy to cut for a vase. Kelway bred it.

Pairs well with Royal Standard hosta, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Carlton daffodil.
