Notes

'Blue Hobbit' blue eryngo (Eryngium planum 'Blue Hobbit') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, rock gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It stays small at 6 to 12 inches tall and wide, and it forms a tidy clump. Purplish blue flowers appear from early to late summer, and butterflies and bees visit them. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Gladiator ornamental onion, and Green Spice coral bells.
