Notes

'Blue Orchid' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Blue Orchid') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The semi-double flowers are wisteria blue with darker veins. They open in early to late spring and smell sweet. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Stargazer lily, Fire Island hosta, and Coral Sunset peony.
