Notes

'Blues Festival' kalm's St. John's wort (Hypericum kalmianum 'Blues Festival') is a shrub for borders, hedges, pollinator gardens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms from early to late summer and draws butterflies, bees, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It grows slowly into a dense shrub up to 36 inches tall.

Pairs well with Anise hyssop, Black-eyed Susan, and Switchgrass.
