Notes
Brewer spruce (Picea breweriana) is an evergreen tree for specimen planting, small gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist soil. Long, slender branches stretch out sideways, and ropelike side branches hang almost straight down. The weeping habit helps shed heavy snow, so branches break less. It grows slowly and is not as easy as other spruces.
Pairs well with Lingonberry, Blue flag, and Fountain grass.
Native range
Central Asia, Asia, and Qinghai.
