Notes

'Brilliant Star' carnation (Dianthus 'Brilliant Star') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It stays 6 to 9 inches tall and bears fragrant white flowers with a maroon eye. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms in spring and summer. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Heather, and Lily.
