Notes

'Bud' red twig dogwood (Cornus sericea 'Bud') is a shrub for borders, hedges, specimen planting, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and has an erect habit. Flowers open in spring and again in summer, and they draw butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Common snowberry, Little bluestem, and Carlton daffodil.
