Notes

'Burakuden' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Burakuden') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Chugai introduced it in 1934. You can bring cut stems indoors for a vase, or let the shrub anchor a mixed border with perennials.

Pairs well with May Night salvia, Blue fescue, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
