Notes
'Butterflies in Flight' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Butterflies in Flight') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deep pink blooms have two rows of cherry rose petals around a rounded boss of stamens. The flowers measure 5 to 6 inches across, and the upright plants grow to 32 inches tall. Roger F. Anderson bred it.
Pairs well with Rose, Dalmatian bellflower, and Christmas fern.
