Notes

'Buyckii' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Buyckii') is a perennial for borders and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Modeste Guérin bred it in 1840. The fragrant salmon-pink blooms have rose-pink outer petals and silvery highlights, and they open in early summer. The plant stays compact and erect with medium green leaves.

Pairs well with Dalmatian bellflower, Rose, and Ostrich fern.
