Notes

'Capistrano' rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Capistrano') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, shade gardens, and woodland settings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Pastel yellow, funnel-shaped flowers with frilly edges open in early to late spring. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Bees visit the blooms, and you can prune the shrub after flowering.

Pairs well with Aureola Japanese forest grass, Lady fern, and Rozanne crane's-bill.
