Notes
Cardinal climber (Ipomoea multifida) is a vine for annual beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It bears red flowers and climbs 120 to 180 inches tall. The vine spreads only 6 to 12 inches wide, so it fits a narrow bed. Give it a trellis or other support to climb.
Pairs well with Ballerina zinnia, Black Oil sunflower, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
