Notes

'Carina' peony (Paeonia 'Carina') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its semi-double, scarlet-crimson flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees, and Arthur Percy Saunders bred it in 1944. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Hosta, Charles Joly lilac, Polish Spirit clematis, and Black Hero tulip.
