Notes

'Carol' peony (Paeonia 'Carol') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears double, bright red, fragrant flowers with a rose center, and the blooms measure 5 to 6 inches across. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Stiff stems hold the flowers up well.

Pairs well with Hosta, Blanket flower, and Carlton daffodil.
