Notes

'Cascade Gem' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Cascade Gem') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Walter Marx bred it in 1957. The white anemone blooms have a yellow center and open from mid to late spring into early summer. Strong stems hold the flowers up, and the dark green foliage looks good all season.

Pairs well with Ostrich fern, Spotted dead nettle, and Dalmatian bellflower.
