Notes
'Cat' nepeta (Nepeta faassenii 'Cat') is a perennial for borders, edging, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil. Sky blue flowers with purple calyxes open in late spring, then return in early to late summer and early autumn. Deer tend to pass it by. You can enjoy its long bloom in beds that stay on the dry side.
Pairs well with Alexander Fleming peony, Panicle hydrangea, and Foxtail barley.
