Notes

'Catshead' apple (Malus domestica 'Catshead') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is grown for cooking, as the juicy, tart flesh cooks down to a puree and needs little added sugar. White flowers open from early to late spring and attract bees. You will need a second apple tree nearby, since it is not self-fertile.

Pairs well with Pink Lemonade blueberry, Hyssop, and Grape hyacinth.
