Notes

French marigold (Tagetes patula) is an annual for borders, containers, and annual beds. It cannot take cold, and a freeze will end its season. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It forms a clumping mound of green leaves with yellow, orange, red, and bicolor blooms. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Supertunia Vista Bubblegum petunia, Celosia, and Red fescue.
