Notes

'Centennial Spirit' lagerstroemia (Lagerstroemia indica 'Centennial Spirit') is a tree for specimen planting, accent, and privacy screen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Flowers open from early to late summer and bring butterflies and bees. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The dense tree grows fast and tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Red twig dogwood, Big bluestem, and Delphinium.
