Notes

'Center Stage Coral' lagerstroemia (Lagerstroemia indica 'Center Stage Coral') is a shrub for specimen planting, hedges, privacy screens, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Ruffled coral pink flowers with yellow stamens open on new wood from summer into fall, and bees and butterflies visit them. The dark burgundy-black leaves make a strong backdrop for the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Dense blazing star, and Clary sage.
