'Changsha' satsuma (Citrus unshiu 'Changsha') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun. It bears heavy crops of small, puffy fruit that are sweet and juicy, though they have seeds. White blooms open in spring and again in summer. Give the leaves and fruit overhead protection in winter.
Pairs well with Fuyu persimmon, Jasmine, and Purple sage.
