Notes

'Cherry Pie' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Cherry Pie') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears cherry-red semi-double blooms in early to mid spring. Each stem holds one bud, and the stems are strong. Roy G. Klehm bred it, and Charles Klehm and Son Nursery introduced it in 1998.

Pairs well with Pink Impression tulip, Clematis, and Burnet.
