Notes

'Cherry Vanilla' carnation (Dianthus 'Cherry Vanilla') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. The fragrant flowers draw butterflies and bees, and the evergreen foliage stays on the plant through winter. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Blooms appear in spring, summer, and autumn.

Pairs well with Catmint, Coneflower, and Black Taffeta coral bells.
