Notes
'Chestine Gowdy' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Chestine Gowdy') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double, fragrant blooms open in early to late spring with silvery pink outer petals and a cream and crimson center. Strong stems hold the flowers up, and the crown grows tall and rounded as the bloom ages.
Pairs well with Compass plant, Blonde Ambition blue grama, Black Hero tulip, and Shrub rose.
