'Chihiro-no-soko' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Chihiro-no-soko') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The name means Depths of the Fathomless Sea. A Japanese breeder developed it, and it was sold in Japan in the 1930s.

Pairs well with Bottlebrush buckeye, Sedge, and Irish moss.
