Notes

Chinese lilac (Syringa chinensis) is a shrub for hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It bears fragrant, rose purple flowers in late spring. It grows 8 to 12 feet tall and 6 to 10 feet wide, so give it room.

Pairs well with Honey Gold peony, Blue Diamond tulip, Cherry, and Cat's Pajamas nepeta.
