Notes

'Lilac Sunday' Chinese lilac (Syringa chinensis 'Lilac Sunday') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Fragrant pale purple flowers open in early to late spring. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Clematis, Woodland phlox, and Hardy geranium.
