Notes

'Chitose-Yama' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Chitose-Yama') is a small tree for specimen plantings, accents, woodland gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. It grows slowly into a broad shape, so give it room to spread. Bees and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Spring snowflake, Midwinter Fire common dogwood, and Primrose.
