Notes

'City of Haarlem' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'City of Haarlem') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It bears fragrant yellow blooms in early to late spring, and bees visit them. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The clumping plant stays 4 to 8 inches tall and handles dry spells well.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Heather, and Balloon flower.
