Notes
'Clara' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Clara') is a shrub for borders and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Tree peonies keep their woody stems through winter, so skip the hard cutback you give other peonies.
Pairs well with First Frost hosta, Stargazer lily, and Endless Summer hydrangea.
