Notes

'Clarentine' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Clarentine') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single wine red flowers have golden stamens and open in late spring. Stems are strong, so the blooms hold up well when cut. John W. and Dot M. McFarlane bred it.

Pairs well with Winterberry, Ostrich fern, and Lily.
