Notes

Cobra lily (Arisaema speciosum) is a perennial for woodland gardens and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and moist soil. The purple and white spathe holds a white spadix with a dangling, thread-like appendage nearly three feet long. Large three-part leaves have red edges. You can grow it in a pot in colder climates and protect it in winter.

Pairs well with Rozanne crane's-bill, Sedge, and Crimson Queen Japanese maple.
