Notes

'Comtesse de Chambord' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Comtesse de Chambord') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The flowers are pink with carmine-pink undertones, and the dark foliage sets them off well. Louis Antoine Guyard bred it as a seedling of 'P'. moutan rosea.

Pairs well with Curly Fries hosta, Niobe clematis, and Switchgrass.
