Notes

'Coronal' peony (Paeonia 'Coronal') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The single, bell-shaped flowers are pale creamy yellow with rosy edges, bloom in early to late spring, and attract butterflies. A.P. Saunders introduced it in 1948. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Sum and Substance hosta, Blue-eyed grass, and Blue fescue.
