Notes

Sulfur cosmos (Cosmos sulphureus) is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It cannot take cold, and a freeze will end its season. This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows fast in a clumping form, and it reaches 24 to 72 inches tall. Butterflies and bees visit the yellow blooms.

Pairs well with Melampodium, Supertunia Vista Bubblegum petunia, and Hollyhock.
