Notes

'Countess of Lovelace' clematis (Clematis 'Countess of Lovelace') is a vine for cottage gardens, containers, and use as a specimen or privacy screen. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Its large lilac-blue flowers reach 6 to 8 inches wide and bloom double in May and June, then often single in August. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Pruning group B1 applies.

Pairs well with Jane magnolia, Obsidian coral bells, and Jeana garden phlox.
