Notes

'Cynthia' rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Cynthia') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Rose pink flowers with a deeper red blotch open in early to late spring and attract hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The evergreen leaves keep the shrub looking full all year.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Coralbells, Lily of the valley, and Red maple.
