Notes

'North Pole' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'North Pole') is a tree for hedges, privacy screens, specimen planting, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. The evergreen foliage is fragrant and attracts birds. It has a dense habit and grows slowly. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Panicle hydrangea, Stonecrop, Limeglow creeping juniper, and Prairie dropseed.
